Envisioning post-pandemic times. Economy and society after the Covid-19

The GROWINPRO project is organizing an online webinar aimed at debating crucial questions about the pandemic, its socioeconomic and health impact, and the future scenarios ahead: from the conflicts over vaccines’ patent rights and Big Pharma’s interests to the role of public health systems in the face of the pandemic crisis, from the current trends of rising inequalities to the political recipes that should be implemented to steer a just and sustainable post-COVID recovery.

The webinar, to be held on February 22, 2022 (from 4:30 to 6.30pm CET), will also be the chance to present the latest project’s results on COVID-19.

The event will gather distinguished scholars and high level CSOs practitioners. Maria Enrica Virgillito (Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies – Pisa), Nicoletta Dentico (Society for International Development) and Sarah Kaplan (Rotman School of Management – University of Toronto) will set the scene and assess, respectively, GROWINPRO’s research on the pandemic, the geopolitics of the virus and the impact of COVID-19 on gender and inequalities.

A policy round table, chaired by the GROWINPRO’s principal investigator Andrea Roventini (Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies – Pisa), will conclude the event, drawing from the contributions of Marica Frangakis (EuroMemo Group), Massimo Florio (University of Milan and Forum on Inequality and Diversity), Giulio Marcon (Sbilanciamoci! Coalition), Giovanni Dosi (Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies – Pisa).

The webinar is co-organised with Lunaria, GROWINPRO partner unit, and Sbilanciamoci!, a member of the GROWINPRO Civil Society Organisations’ network.
